For counter service asian, the food was good, the space is attractive and the people were nice. I had yakisoba with shrimp and the flavors were good. It could have been seasoned more but I'm quibbling. Despite the name, the menu is a mishmash of Japanese, chinese and wraps. It's sorta crazy that this one shopping center now has three restaurants doing the same basic cuisine. Yeah they are all a little different but do have significant overlap. Here's my ranking: 1 - Okinawa (Sushi, Japanese cuisine, sit-down, takeout) 2 - Yummy Bowl (Sushi, Mongolian Grill, sit-down, takeout) 3- Hibachi (Japanese, Chinese, casual counter service, drive thru)

I love hibachi, but don't always want to go sit down at a restaurant, so a drive through one is so convenient. We tried it tonight and it was SO good! Great prices, portions, and service! I got the shrimp hibachi & he got the chicken. We will definitely be back. I recommend trying it!

Who wants another hibachi place to choose from?!? Me! Welcome Hibachi to Homewood. Yes the name of the place is simply Hibachi. Located in the parking lot adjacent to Milos on State Farm Parkway across from the IHOP, Hibachi has only been opened a couple of months. I didn't go inside so I'm not familiar with their interior, but I suspect there are a couple of small tables. Outside their establishment is the very noticeable front signage which adorns the large letters H-I-B-A-C-H-I. Hibachi's menu is very simple and pretty much like any other hibachi menu in town. There are some apps like Asian boneless wings, crab rangoon, cheese wontons, egg rolls and dumplings. I tried their dumplings. They were tasty, a little dry and a little small. They have salads on their menu as well as Teriyaki bowls, Yakisoba (noodle) bowls, wraps and a small kids menu. For each, you can choose your choice of protein: steak, shrimp, fish, and even scallops. I believe their most interesting draw is the drive-thru. That's right, you read correctly. This the first time I've ever been to a hibachi drive-thru place. I stopped at any regular type drive thru ordering station with their menu clearly showing. A nice lady took my order through the speaker, read my order back to me, and gave me a total. I then proceeded around the corner and to the window. She took my credit card and since there wasn't anyone behind me. I just sat there at the window and waited for my order. Now we ordered 5 hibachi meals and 1 appertizer. It only took about 5 minutes! It took me longer to drive home than it took them to get our food! I asked if they could customize the hibachi steak rare, but was told all their steak is cooked well done. I tasted Tammy's steak and it wasn't tough for being cooked well, but it wasn't marinated long and could've been seasoned more. Matthew enjoyed his steak and chicken hibachi. My shrimp was cooked nicely and seasoned accordingly. The accompanying veggies of broccoli, carrots, zucchini and squash were freshly cooked, but the most disappointing to me was their rice. You can tell it was precooked and most likely just flashed on the grill. Also underseasoned, I did like the little bit of fried egg in the rice. Portions were Yuge! The entire container was basically filled with rice and then your entree and veggies were poured on top of it. Prices were also very affordable as the hibachi entrees range from $8 to $14. We all ordered hibachi so I'm curious to try their noodle bowls and wraps next time. Each hibachi entree came with a container of famous Terry Ho's Yum Yum sauce. Very tasty indeed! Also noted and asked why they didn't have a phone number. I was informed that they were working on getting a working business phone for that location. Strange why a phone wouldn't be locked down before opening date. They do have a website, but you can't order online. I also inquired about that and she said that was also "coming soon". I'm not sure but you can probably use GrubHub with them? Overall I'm thrilled that there's now a drive-thru option for hibachi. Is the speed worth the quality of food. My answer would probably vary depending on when you ask. That is, how hungry was I. In the end, you still get freshly cooked food at a very reasonable speed AND you can stay in your vehicle! When they get a working phone and online ordering setup they will mostly likely get even busier. Welcome to Homewood Hibachi!
